our team:
I have been practicing as a therapist since 2012. I graduated with my masters in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2014. My published thesis, The Crisis of Symbolism in Contemporary America, discusses how advertising has confused the innate human capacity to use art and symbols to heal. This thesis is a pivotal work for me, as it helps me make sense of the desire and need for us as humans to make art to help us with meaning and understanding.
I studied at the Jung Institute Los Angeles, where I further increased my knowledge of art and symbolism. I served as a professor’s assistant for 5 years as well as taught Early Childhood Development for 2 years at Pacifica Graduate Institute.
I have been a therapist for over 12 years, some of which include: in-patient treatment at Beit T’Shuvah, a soul-based inpatient rehabilitation center in Culver City where I practiced using a Jungian modality; Early Childhood Development Association, where I increased my knowledge of child development and symbolic play; Home-care and training with Spectrum Disorders; Los Angeles pre-schools where I have been a play interventionist; as well as currently working in a private practice setting in Santa Monica.
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” – C.G. Jung
My therapeutic approach revolves around helping you look beneath the symptoms that you are experiencing with your core Self. I currently work with adults who face many stressful and unique challenges in today’s age. Life can feel overwhelming while navigating through the pressures of society, family life,
and work demands. Perhaps you are struggling in your relationships? Maybe you don’t know where to begin making a change to experience relief? I can help you find improvement in areas of your life in which you are seeking change. I care about the quality of my clients’ lives and enjoy helping them to create lasting, positive changes for themselves.
I have training in Psychodynamic, Object-Relations, Attachment-Focused, Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, Family Systems, Structural Family, Bowenian Family, and Mindfulness-Based modalities of therapy. I sometimes work through a Jungian lens, depending on the wants and needs of the client, focusing on making deep meaning of experiences, dream work, and active imagination through your own chosen creative practices. I appreciate working with clients who identify as creative-types or artists, but also enjoy working with anyone and everyone who is seeking help.
I enjoy working with a wide range of mental health issues and am particularly interested in, but not limited to: women’s issues, anxiety/depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, and trauma related to religion. Being a Chilean-American female, I am also interested in racial identity development for folks that have blended cultural backgrounds. Let me help you uncover challenging patterns in your life as well as set collaborative, achievable goals to help you get to where you want to be throughout your journey in therapy. A genuine and non-judgmental space is created for you while we work together. I look forward to empowering you on your journey of individuation, helping you raise your self-worth, and learning skills that will benefit you.
